24: Legacy will be without Jack Bauer
It was Summer of 2014 since we last saw Jack Bauer. The limited event gave us 12 episodes instead of the usual 24 we were so used to with the series. Swapping the US for London also made 24: Live Another Day the most different 24 we have seen.
But it shared the same elements that we love about 24: plot twists, big deaths, conspiracy, interesting politics and, of course, Jack Bauer kicking ass.
Yet we may have seen the last of the Bauer as FOX have just ordered a pilot for a spin-off series called 24: Legacy.
Legacy will feature a new cast of characters. One which does not include Kiefer Sutherland, who resurrected his career by bringing Jack Bauer to our screens.
Howard Gordon, Manny Koto and Evan Katz who were key figures during 24’s original run from 2001-2014 will return to the spin-off.
“Replacing Bauer as 24’s focus will be African-American military hero Eric Carter who, upon returning home from deployment, discovers trouble has followed him.” – The Independent
This could be good and bad news to fans, myself included. I have been wanting a new series of 24 since Live Another Day showed it can still be a successful TV show.
But would I want to watch a 24 series with Kiefer Sutherland? Probably not.
