Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare comes with Cod4 Remastered

Call of Duty 4. Enough said.

Every year we have come to expect a new Call of Duty. Every year we have come expect that each new game will somehow disappoint fans of the series.

Back in 2007, Infinity Ward changed the gaming world forever. Bringing FPS’s into Modern Warfare; WII was just the norm setting for shooter games back then. The greatest change since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare would perhaps be the introduction of Zombies, just a year later in World at War.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare | Captain Price

Since then, well, we haven’t really been treated to much in terms of innovation. Instead, we have been thrown into a double-jumping, futuristic setting which seems to have tired gamers such as myself.

This is when the announcement of the latest game, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has been met with a mixed reaction from the world.

The game will be based around the solar-system with Zero gravity combat. This please those who love this side of Cod (who are you!?) But Christmas has come early for the majority of us, we are getting a Remastered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (originally Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare).

Get excited. Watch the trailer below.

I have just about calmed myself down. Seeing Captain Price is like seeing a really cool uncle from my childhood that I haven’t seen for a decade. It brings everything back. I remember spending hours each day committing to this game. Falling asleep in classes in school because that hardcore search & destroy game at 4am that day really took it out of me.

Despite its futuristic setting that I have already slagged off, I could say that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare actually looks a decent game. But decent was never mentioned in anyway when it came to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It was simply brilliant in every way. Those last few seconds of the trailer simply blow away anything in the minutes before it.

To point out, you must purchase Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in order to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. In other words, there will be no stand alone version of CoD remastered. But that doesn’t exactly rule out the possibility of a future standalone release.

Activision and Infinity Ward wouldn’t want the possibility of the remastered version outselling Infinite Warfare. In fact, the decision to bundle them together will no doubt boost sales of Infinite Warfare! Wise choice.
